Mixed Exhibition “Full Screen”

Full Screen

Art Suites Gallery is meeting with art lovers between September 26 – October 24, 2012 with its “Full Screen” exhibition in the new season. In this exhibition, we can see the transformation of the images influenced by the artists Onur Doğu, Eda Gecikmez, İbrahim Koç, Anna Mihailidou and Meltem Arkaıkara in the exhibition.

“Full Screen” symbolizes the interaction of the individual with today’s technology world. Video, internet, TV screen, multimedia, in short, in every field where technology surrounds our lives, there are thousands of images that individuals encounter every day, especially in the virtual environment. Images created by artists in their own world; The transformation of the individual in a “trans” (transition) state as a body, the figures that turn into fashion icons with their clothes in a cool attitude on the surface, the poetic state of the beauty in the portrait is given to us through the screen image, gigantic / small metal animals that we can only see in a fantastic movie that do not exist in the real world Unlike the images created in the digital age, “Full Screen”, which consists of all these images, consists of quite traditional materials; The two dimensional surface of the penture, the metal material used in sculpture and the plain state of the photograph. Perhaps for this reason, the works establish a more organic communication with the audience, and technology brings the same distance as well as the proximity it creates. First of all, it makes us forget our sense of touch, it reduces one of our senses that can show that it is real and turns everything into an undecidable situation.
